Hybrid v1

The best Rom till now acc. to me,it was released twice with second release of v1(ie v1.3.2) having some stability improvements. As its name suggests its an fusion of asevmaxx and leandros v1 Roms published earlier.
So it  inherits all properties of leandros v1(with fixed wifi)

As i always do ,keeping it short here i goes directly to PROS and CONS

PROS

  1. Rooted
  2. Busybox
  3. ADW launcher in place of stock
  4. Pre-installed Chainfire 3D(improves graphics accleration)
  5. Removed Bloatware(means micromax apps)
  6. Zipallign at boot
  7. JIT enabled
  8. Improved Build.prop
  9. Ext partition quick reboot fix
  10. GREAT BATTERY backup
  11. You don't need any task killer or any damn app for CPU , ram , sd boost or anything.....they all are pre-enabled

CONS
  1. No flash player for stock browser
  2. No Darktremor's Apps2sd but we have an partial remedy for this also

Final Verdict:
A thumbs Up!!!A very good ROM,an excellent effort without source code. The best ROM and I too uses this in my device and will continue to , till the day i delete this line

So Download links Are here

ALSO A TREAT FOR CUSTOMIZATION LOVERS,JUST FLASH THIS ZIP AFTER SUCCESSFUL INSTALL OF ROM and get the looks below free free free !!!

Leandros v2

The words of the developer "It's the second iteration of the Leandros ROM",well it was not, seriously speaking it was a fail, sorry karan but u have to admit it

Cutting it short ,so we are not going to discuss PROS and CONS  as it is same as v1 but with some performance improvement and some great apps but it accompanies heavy battery drain and no wifi

Apps Bundled

  1. LauncherPro is default Launcher /balancer as substitute
  2. File Expert which also has a root browser
  3. Live Wallpapers(was excluded in previous version)
  4. Substrate Live Wallpaper bundled
  5. No-Frills CPU bundled
  6. K-9 mail bundled .Its better than gmail .Trust me .
  7. Titanium backup for backup/restore
  8. ROM ToolBox for the many tweaks your heart desires (but doesn't support A70 so its a waste).

Playful God's Aseventy

The first custom ROM after the launch of Micromax a70 was appreciated a lot(along with criticism)
Keeping it short i will directly go to my favorite section that's The PROS and CONS

So here we go

PROS

  1. Rooted
  2. Deodexed
  3. APK's Zipaligned (better RAM utilization)
  4. Darktremor Apps2SD v2.7.5.2 + fix. (Class 6 or better SDCard required. SDCard needs to be partitioned for SD-EXT)
  5. Dalvik able to be moved to sdcard
  6. Nano added
  7. Bash added
  8. Custom boot-animation(i.e the animation of micromax is removed and a new animation is added)
  9. No Ads Host file
  10. Bloatware will need to be Removed manually with Root Explorer.
  11. Faster than Original/stock ROM

Now comes the main section i.e. CONS
  1. WiFi will not work(although ours have a weak antenna but in this ROM even that will not also switch on)
  2. May crash sometimes
  3. Boot-animation takes very long time to finish thus prolonging the boot-sequence(strongly dislike)

Even after having serious CONS and good PROS ,it was a very good effort by the ROM developer named Playful God

Download The ROM here
For Advanced user, download the CWM Recovery image here
                                Fastboot Image is here

How to install a ROM ???(Using CWM Recovery)

Now this is the most sensitive area ,so plz be serious and pay attention to each and every institution,so here are my instructions(a note; if u have been listening with full attention and care then by now u would have noticed the my mistake of writing instruction as institution ,i u have then its good ,if not then get the Hell serious, its not a joke !!! )

Instructions are divided on two parts(i.e. if u have a ROM with its kernel or u have a ROM without kernel)

First Common instruction is DO a Backup of your working device via CWM Recovery or any other recovery you know

Secondly i assume that u have copied the ROM zip file to your SD-card already and

Thirdly that you are on Stock Rom ohterwise, plz first roll back to it,as it ensures problem and successful flash of ROM

  • For Rom Without kernel zip along with it
  1. Boot into CWM recovery by first switching off and the powering on the device by holding the button combination(varies with device, for A70 its VOL.Down button and power button)
  2. Take a Backup
  3. Factory reset from the menu of CWM
  4. Flash the ZIP of the ROM from the folder in which u kept it on your sd-card
  5. After flashing of rom /installation of rom by CWM is done then
  6. Reboot
  7. And Voila its done(if it Boots up !!!)
  • For Rom With Kernel zip
  1. same procedure as above upto point no. 5
  2. after that again flash a zip that is having the kernel
  3. now same as from point no. 6 upto point no. 7

Disclaimer: I am not responsible for any carelessness made by you resulting into bricking or BLAH BLAH !!! type thing. Do it at your own risk

Q.phone is stuck at logo and no cwm recovery
A.just flash recovery from adb or fastboot method..(refer here)

Custom Roms for A70 !!!

Even though don't have kernel source released by Micromax so we have to forget about porting of the best Rom that's CM7 to this device but still we any many other developers able to modify the stock ROM too get the most out of this phone/device
In total till now what we have managed to get I'd 11 ROMs , seems a pretty good number na ??? but sorry for being a spoil sport but all of them are customization of each other so the ROM,after 5 ROMs was the same as first one but with some of the problems and bugs solved(that's appreciable)
So keeping it short the list starts here:

  1. Playful God's Aseventy
  2. Asevmaxx v1
  3. Droidmaxx v1
  4. Droidmaxx v2
  5. Droidmaxx v3
  6. Leandros v1
  7. Asevmaxx v2
  8. Hybrid v1
  9. Leandros v2
  10. Hybrid v2
  11. Hybrid v3
  12. Ashwa v1
  13. Ashwa v2
  14. Viper rom v1

The which are most recommended and  favorite of mine are Leandros v1 and Hybridv1(its a customization/improvement of leandros v1)

The detailed Info and download link(if exists) of the ROMs above can be viewed by clicking on the respective ROM name

For those who Don't know "How to install a ROM",please just go through the ROMs,select the one you like, download it and revert back to this blog for the post "How to install a ROM" and follow the steps carefully don't try to cock the steps yourself as it can brick your phone, but following each step accordingly not even your phone can dare to get bricked or even go out of control(i.e. switching off),so just follow the steps and feel relaxed.

5 Essential Apps For A70

In this post i will tell you about the 5 most essential and RECOMMENDED apps to get the most out of A70(irrespective if you are running stock or any other ROM) as we know system tweaking(android booster),security(netqin se curity full)and many other social apps like fb,ebuddy etc. and opera mini are already included in stock rom,but still we need some more apps to get the best of A70,so here are they

  1. PowerAmp :Due to limitation of the stock player to play only mp3 and some other type of files(i don't remember them ) so to overcome this and play any(almost) audio format like mp3,wma,etc and it also have a equalizer(also having a option called "Phone(loud)" optimized for speaker only)
So it's monster app. to play any(again almost) type of audio file type
Also the monster apps don't come free, but still it has a trial version to try out, full version to buy out or any cracked version(if any, just Google it) to try full without buying.
  2. QQPlayer :As its slogan go's Any Video,Anywhere, and they mean it,yes you can play any popular format of video file, even HD(if you are having a decent processor of MHz or above),it also comes with an option of suppressing image quality to play even HD(Not Full HD)videos but they will not remain HD for the playing time, but they playback will be smooth.
So it's a monster app. for playing videos, and we have a surprise for you,its totally FREE,yes it comes totally free(till now).
  3. UCBrowser: No need to mention it clearly says all by its name, although A70 stock browser supports all advanced functions, but still we need it to get complete PC web browsing experience as it  has flash player 10.0.1 already embedded in it,whats more its also FREE,also i forgot to mention,it supports the latest and refreshing HTML5,so rock the web with it
  4. Download All Files : An irritating feature which every stock browser(even if its nokia or any other ,and in this case android) has that it prevents some type of files from downloading,so for this Download All Files comes to rescue. Just install it and download any file, whats more it also comes FREE.
  5. Tubemate :I think till now you must have got the hint, for those who haven't its you-tube video down-loader and i must say an excellent down-loader ,can download any format you want also allow us to stream videos via stock player.

Well that's all for now, stay tuned for more interesting apps, especially for A70.

    What is rooting ?

Rooting is a process that allows users of mobile phones and other devices running the Android operating system to attain privileged control (known as "root access") within Android's Linux subsystem with the goal of overcoming limitations that carriers and manufacturers put on some devices. It is analogous to jailbreaking on devices running the Apple iOS operating system.

    Why ROOT ?
    Benefits Of Rooting !!!

The answer to this question is very simple, that is we just need it.In other words, for some applications to work or to install another version or modified version of android we need to have full  and un-restricted access to system. We have perfect image attached to show the benefits of rooting

    Is ROOTING dangerous ?

Well its not at all but still some people say that it can brick your device(means can damage your firmware or android software in this case or even worst case your device doesn't starts at all),but believe it never happened to anybody who clearly followed the steps and not tried to over-smart by skipping required steps

Also it voids warranty for some manufactures (we have a remedy for that,so don't worry about that, even we also have remedy for above problem but we will discuss that later in some other post)

    How to ROOT ?

Every device has a different way to get ROOT privileges, you can Google for your specific device some apps used for rooting are Z4root,universal root, etc.

    NOW its time for  Cons
    1. Very Weak wifi antenna almost u can say negligible,u have to sit very close to router to get wifi signals
    2. NO flash for camera
    3. Not flash player enabled device ,but that can be installed by a method in further posts
    4. no upadte of 2.3 from micromax, nor a custom kernel as kernel source is not released by micromax so we cannot port any other rom to this mobile(New to android ?,just forget about this point !!! come back later after buying the phone, for now go to next point)
    5. vibrator problem, sometimes a little jerk makes its loosely connected vibrator to stop working, that too can be restored by again giving a jerk
    6. 190mb internal space,so if not modified(for modifications refer further posts) can run into low memory space problem.
    7. this point is only for advanced users, low 152 mb of ROM disk so ROM must have to be de-oxidized., also to get adb support one have to struggle for this device
    8. Poor micromax service,i.e. if once your phone gets into some problem, fooooo its gone for a long time

So these are all the pros and cons and some specifications of Micromax a70 ,now choice is yours !!!!!!!

    Android -What is android ???

    Android -What is android ???

A question arising in most of the population who were earlier slaved to Nokia,Apple and BlackBerry phones.
Well in simple words its just a kind of windows for Smart-phones but being an open source code its "cost of development" drops a lot as compared to a normal Symbian OS, i OS ,Blackberry OS or Windows Mobile OS.

A clear definition ,features and its brief working is as :

    Definition :
Android is a software stack for mobile devices that includes an operating system, middleware and key applications. The Android SDK provides the tools and APIs necessary to begin developing applications on the Android platform using the Java programming language.
Its a Unix-based operating system firstly made by Android Inc. then in august 2005 google acquired it.

    Features

    • Application framework enabling reuse and replacement of components
    • Dalvik virtual machine optimized for mobile devices
    • Integrated browser based on the open source WebKit engine
    • Optimized graphics powered by a custom 2D graphics library; 3D graphics based on the OpenGL ES 1.0 specification (hardware acceleration optional)
    • SQLite for structured data storage
    • Media support for common audio, video, and still image formats (MPEG4, H.264, MP3, AAC, AMR, JPG, PNG, GIF)
    • GSM Telephony (hardware dependent)
    • Bluetooth, EDGE, 3G, and WiFi (hardware dependent)
    • Camera, GPS, compass, and accelerometer (hardware dependent)
    • Rich development environment including a device emulator, tools for debugging, memory and performance profiling, and a plugin for the Eclipse IDE

    Android Architecture

The figure shows the major components of the Android operating system. Each section is described in more detail in the figure.

    Applications

Android will ship with a set of core applications including an email client, SMS program, calendar, maps, browser, contacts, and others. All applications are written using the Java programming language.

    Application Framework

By providing an open development platform, Android offers developers the ability to build extremely rich and innovative applications. Developers are free to take advantage of the device hardware, access location information, run background services, set alarms, add notifications to the status bar, and much, much more.

Developers have full access to the same framework APIs used by the core applications. The application architecture is designed to simplify the reuse of components; any application can publish its capabilities and any other application may then make use of those capabilities (subject to security constraints enforced by the framework). This same mechanism allows components to be replaced by the user.

Underlying all applications is a set of services and systems, including:

    • A rich and extensible set of Views that can be used to build an application, including lists, grids, text boxes, buttons, and even an embeddable web browser
    • Content Providers that enable applications to access data from other applications (such as Contacts), or to share their own data
    • A Resource Manager, providing access to non-code resources such as localized strings, graphics, and layout files
    • A Notification Manager that enables all applications to display custom alerts in the status bar
    • An Activity Manager that manages the lifecycle of applications and provides a common navigation backstack
For more details and a walkthrough of an application, see the Notepad Tutorial

    Libraries

Android includes a set of C/C++ libraries used by various components of the Android system. These capabilities are exposed to developers through the Android application framework. Some of the core libraries are listed be low:

    • · System C library - a BSD-derived implementation of the standard C system library (libc), tuned for embedded Linux- based devices
    • · Media Libraries - based on PacketVideo's OpenCORE; the libraries support playback and recording of many popular audio and video formats, as well as static image files, including MPEG4, H.264, MP3, AAC, AMR, JPG, and PNG
    • · Surface Manager - manages access to the display subsystem and seamlessly composites 2D and 3D graphic layers from multiple applications

    • · SGL - the underlying 2D graphics engine
    • 3D libraries - an implementation based on OpenGL ES 1.0 APIs; the libraries use either hardware 3D acceleration (where available) or the included, highly optimized 3D software rasterizer
    • · FreeType - bitmap and vector font renderin
    • · SQLite - a powerful and lightweight relational database engine available to all applications
    • Android Runtime

Android includes a set of core libraries that provides most of the functionality available in the core libraries of the Java programming language.

Every Android application runs in its own process, with its own instance of the Dalvik virtual machine. Dalvik has been written so that a device can run multiple VMs efficiently. The Dalvik VM executes files in the Dalvik Executable (.dex) format which is optimized for minimal memory footprint. The VM is register-based, and runs classes compiled by a Java language compiler that have been transformed into the .dex format by the included "dx" tool.

The Dalvik VM relies on the Linux kernel for underlying functionality such as threading and low-level memory management.

    Linux Kernel

Android relies on Linux version 2.6 for core system services such as security, memory management, process management, network stack, and driver model. The kernel also acts as an abstraction layer between the hardware and the rest of the software stack.
