Well Nvidia is going to find solution for this problem on mobile platform, well at-least this what the Project Logan says .Yes, you heard it right, Nvidia, one of the well known name in the field of computing(especially graphic card technologies and mobile SoC's) has recently revealed its Project Logan, an upcoming mobile processor sporting a GPU based on the "Kepler architecture" ,the same popular architecture as they use in their graphics lineup for PCs and laptops.
Whats more exciting is that Nvidia claims that ,this GPU will surpass the performance of most popular current-gen consoles(like PS3 or XBOX-360) and obviously the graphics capabilities of smartphones & tablets available in market today.

In their blog post Nvidia claims to have scaled down the power consumption while maintaining the performance. Quoting the results from what they might have tested that Project Logan processor uses less than 1/3 power of the iPad 4’s GPU while still engaged in same operation, plus still leaves room for higher clock speeds and thus better performance. Also according to Nvidia, the new processor supports the latest and hotest OpenGL standards and the most demanding DirectX 11. (means you are gone play lot of high end games right on you 5'' or 10'' rig ,also some stimulation softs. might get support from the GPU)
Well Nvidia is best at demonstrating their new technologies and this time also they haven't missed this thing, they have released the videos of demos of Project Logan including the well-known ‘Ira’ demo that was used to demonstrate the performance of the GTX Titan(its top-end desktop GPU) at the time it was introduced.
